The Hudson River is a
315 mile river that flows from North to South through eastern New York State
and empties into the Atlantic Ocean. The Hudson River is joined at Troy
by the Mohawk River. South of Troy,
flows south into the
Atlantic Ocean between Manhattan Island and the New Jersey Palisades, forming
New York Harbor. The Narrows, a tidal strait between Staten Island and
Brooklyn, connects the upper and lower sections of New York Bay. It has long
been considered the maritime "gateway" to New York City and historically has
been the most important entrance into the harbor.
Striped
Bass fishing is popular in the Hudson River. These fish usually start
showing up anywhere from the end of March to the middle of April and fishing
season runs through November. You can fish anywhere on the Hudson River
above the George Washington Bridge. Rapalas, Striper Swipers, and
Bombers are popular Striper fishing lures on the Hudson River. When
striper fishing on the Hudson River look for structure near moving
water. Due to limited quality shore access on the Hudson River, it is
best to hire an experienced Hudson River Fishing Charter.
